Lion's mane is a beautiful mushroom with an appearance reminiscent of a lion's mane. Lion's mane is called hedgehog mushroom in Swedish and has a long-standing use in Chinese health philosophy. The extract comes from the mushroom's fruiting body, which contains high levels of active substances, mainly in the form of polysaccharides including beta-glucans. Lion's mane is usually classified as a so-called nootropic, i.e. it contains substances that are considered to affect our mental function.
